Vivid Solutions is hiring. Established in 1996 we are one of Victoria's most respected IT application development and services firms. We are looking for a DevOps Specialist to join our team and work with some of the best in the business.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a DevOps Specialist you will be a master at multitasking with exceptional skills and experience in configuration management and continuous delivery within an Agile environment. As a team member you will leverage your experience with a variety of tools and processes to establish, troubleshoot and optimize application deliveries across multiple environments.

Requirements:

• A Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related field and minimum 3 years’ experience with 2 years of DevOps experience

• Expertise with build automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible and Maven

• Experience in Web Technologies such as HTTP Web Server, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, JSON, Angular.js, Node.js, Backbone.js, D3, C3, React.js and Mongo DB

• Expertise with Web Server technologies such as Apache, HTTP, NGINX, Microsoft IIS, Tomcat, Weblogic and Node

• Experience administering version systems such as SVN, GIT or Bitbucket and developing build/release strategies

• Strong knowledge of configuration automation and deployment automation

• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL, non-relational databases, message queuing technologies and web proxies

• Experience with containerization products such as Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift

• Experience with virtualization such as VMWare and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure and OpenShift

• Experience with Cross-Platform Environments including Linux, UNIX and Windows

• Experience with scripting tools such as shell, Groovy, Python and JavaScript

• Knowledge of log management and monitoring tools

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication and intuitive analysis skills with ability to work efficiently in both independent and team work environments

• Experience working with internal and external organizations solving complex problems and handling large scale projects

• Track record of identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in highly complex systems and optimizing performance

• Thorough knowledge of networking protocols, routing, ACLs and security

• Training / Teaching experience to individuals and corporate customers on DevOps, basic setup and administration

• Able to administer tasks such as backups and file system space management

• Experience in supporting 24x7 production environments
